Nothing quite like a good Burger…one of those things you feel you may miss out on when you decide to follow a plant-based diet. Well, fear not! This Mince Burger was absolutely delicious and incredibly healthy too!
This is one of our personal family favourites.
(please excuse the food styling & photography – I had some hungry, little mouths to feed, so time was not on my side!) #momlife
Prep time: 20 min max
1 pack Fry’s Vegan Mince (defrosted)
1 clove garlic, crushed
1/2 onion, finely chopped
2 tbsp Macadamia oil
3 tbsp Almond Meal
1 tsp ground cumin
handful coriander, chopped
1 shallot, chopped
2 flax eggs (2 tsp ground flax + 2 tbsp water)
Himalayan Salt & Black pepper, to taste
Options to serve: Lettuce leaf cups, wraps, burger bun, Kaleslaw, sliced tomato, homemade tomato relish.
Fry the onion and garlic in a little macadamia oil until transparent and lightly browned. Add all ingredients together (except the mac oil) and process in a food processor until finely chopped and just combined.
Make Burger patties using your hands.
Heat the remaining Mac oil in a non stick pan. Place the burgers in the pan and cook for about 5 min turning once or twice.
To serve: Place Burgers in lettuce cups and garnish as you wish!
